What are the options for the decision you are trying to make? Whatever you are trying to decide, you have options and the first thing you need to do is make it clear what those options are. It could be three different job offers to choose from or whether or not you want to go on a date tonight. In the top row of the table below write out 2 to 5 options.
If you would like to add more than two options (up to five total) just click the Add Options button at the top of the table. You can remove options later if you change your mind.

What do you need to consider in order to choose the best option? When you make a decision, you need to clarify what is influencing your decision. If you are deciding on which restaurant to go to, your considerations might be affordability, convenience, food quality, etc. If you are deciding on which city move to, your considerations might be weather, cost of living, job market, etc. Keep in mind, this is not a pros and cons list, so your considerations should not be directed specifically for or against any one option. For instance, if you are deciding between a red car and a blue car, and you love the color red, the consideration should not be “I love the color red.” Instead, it should just be “Color.” You'll understand why when you get to score your options. In the mean time, in the first column below make a list of all the considerations for the decision you are trying to make.
If you would like to add more than three considerations (up to ten total) just click the Add Considerations button at the top of the table. You can remove considerations later if you change your mind.

How important are each of your considerations? To figure out each consideration’s relative importance, divvy up 100 points among them. The considerations that you feel are most important will get more points, and the considerations that you feel are not quite as important will get fewer points. You may find that you need to make a few adjustments before you get it right.

On a scale of 1-10, how well do the options score for each of the considerations? Determine how well each option addresses your considerations with 10 being total satisfaction (it is possible for more than one option to have a score of 10 for the same consideration). So, in our example where you’re deciding on which restaurant to go to, if one of your restaurants is expensive and a consideration is affordability, you might give that restaurant a low score like 2 or 3 for that particular consideration. And remember the red car and blue car example? If one of your considerations was “I love the color red” then blue car would have to get a 0, but if you broadened the consideration to “Color” then blue car still has a chance to get some points depending on how much you like or dislike the color blue.

What happens if you don’t agree with Deciso’s determination? Take some time and think about why you don’t agree. Are you leaning toward one option in particular? You’ve probably made your decision already. Go for it.
